I was hoping that the shoe shelf would reflect the materials I have available. I have 1 5/15 x 3 5/16 boards for the uprights. I have some pallet boards that weren't used yet that will be about 3.5 inches wide so there would be three used to come up with a shelf that would be 50 wide x 10.5 deep. That shelf would be about 72 inches tall and the lower section would be 40 inches tall. The upper section would be joined to the lower section with mortise and tenons.
