They surround Lady Justice, towering over her. One REPRESENTATIVE steps forward, smirking. He raises his polished shoe...
REPRESENTATIVE:

Balance is inconvenient.
The shoe comes down. CRACK — the scale clatters to the ground, its chains snapping.
Lady Justice grips her sword, trembling. She raises it, but hands seize her arms. The Representatives pull her down, forcing her to her knees.
REPRESENTATIVE 2:
Justice bends... or breaks.
They trample her. Marble dust rises as boots stomp. The blindfold frays. The sword slips from her grasp and skids across the floor.
Close-up: The SCALE lies shattered. The SWORD, out of reach. The BLINDFOLD torn and blood-streaked.
The Representatives stand victorious. They file out, their shadows retreating into darkness.
